Dryden residents will start see shadow billing for water meters in mid-October.
A rate structure has been approved by Council, the final step in the conversion to water meters.
Director of Public Works and Engineering Mike Louttit says water bills will include both a fixed rate and consumption rate.
Louttit says the fixed rate will be higher but notes consumers using less water will see a drop in their bills.
Louttit notes Domtar is getting a break on its higher flow rates and notes that will be monitored during shadow billing.
He says 50% of us will see a drop in the monthly water bill, while the other 50% will stay the same or see an increase.
