Kenora-Rainy River MP Bob Nault says he’s not surprised that Canada has won another round in the on-going Softwood Lumber dispute with the United States.
Thursday, a NAFTA Panel ruled that Canadian exports don’t hurt American lumber producers.
Nault says Canada has won almost every appeal and he feels the only way the issue will be resolved is through negotiations.
Nault adds that the timing of the decision is timely considering the Prime Minister just met with U.S. President Bush.
He believes that get together was a good starting point.
