Thunder Bay-Rainy River MPP Bill Mauro says he would like to see the
Atikokan coal fired plant stay open, with it burning something other then
coal.
The Liberal member met with more than 200 angry residents last week
and says he’s doing what he can to provide help for the community.
Mauro says he wants to get a new Government committee working with
residents in Atikokan.
The station is scheduled to close in 2007.
Mauro also met with 100 business owners to discuss concerns with the
local economy.
