MPP Says Proposed Bill On Gas Tax A Good Start

Call it the first step to correct infastructure funding.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell spoke in the legislature about a new bill that will change how the gas tax is divided.
Campbell says she supports the bill but notes it doesn’t solve all of the problems.
She says there’s chronic underfunding across the board.
Campbell stresses communities like Dryden and Kenora are facing serious infrastructure challenges and notes we are all paying the gas tax.
Campbell does point out that the bill is a good step in pressuring the government to set up a dedicated fund for infastructure maintenance that will benefit rural and Northern Ontario.
