You’ll get no complaints from the region’s municipal leaders to the two new provincial ridings for northern Ontario.
Wendy Landry of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association says the changes have their full support, and will give us more representation at Queen’s Park.
“Especially with us being so far north compared to the GTA and other areas, I think this is a positive move for the province to add the voice to the north,” she points out.
The changes add one more riding to northwestern Ontario, called Kiiwetinoong, which will have almost 70 per cent Indigenous representation. (File Photo)
