Municipal Council Race in Sioux Lookout

The 2010 Municipal Election is just days away as the final vote is Monday.
CKDR is taking a look at the Mayor’s race in several communities this week.
Doug Lawrence is running for Mayor in Sioux Lookout and says if elected he will turn the current 5th Avenue Hospital site into an alternate care facility.
Lawrence is also pushing for additional residential lots.
Susan Williams says she want’s to see a focus on economic development and exploring eco-tourism opportunities.
Williams also want’s more communication between Council and taxpayers.
Dennis Leney says he wants to bring fiscal responsibility back to Council.
Leney says he will review taxation and repeal the controversial plastic bag ban bylaw.
Joyce Timpson, Tony Derose, John Bath, David Allen, Sharon Schinke, Doug Squires, David Gordon and Herb Zettel are running for Council.
