A 5 goal outburst in the first period lifted the Fort Frances Muskies to an 8-2 win over the Dryden Eagles Friday night in Boys High School Hockey.
The game was tied early in the opening frame, thanks to a great individual effort from Ryan Lobreau, however the Muskies rebounded with 4 consecutive goals.
The Eagles stayed with the Muskies for the final 2 periods but couldn’t bounce back.
Kyle Hamilton scored Dryden’s second goal with a powerplay marker.
Zach Lake started for the Eagles with Curtis Barker finishing things off.
According to the official scorer, the Eagles outshot the Muskies 41-40.
Dryden is now 1-1, while the Muskies improve to 4-0.
In High School Hockey on Saturday, the Red Lake Rams meet the Beaver Brae Broncos in Kenora.
Game time is 12:30.
