When the final buzzer went, it seemed like the Fort High Muskie football team had won the Winnipeg High School championship.
The black and gold defence was solid again and this time the offence got them on the board in an 11-0 shut out of the Dryden Eagles in the Fort’s annual Homecoming Game.
Steve Boileau got the Muskies on the board first as he kicked a 30-yard field goal, then in the dying moments of the game, Terry Carmody and the Fort’s offensive line pushed two yards for a touchdown.
Alex Wepruk added a single on a punt that sailed through the end zone with less than a minute left.
The Muskies improve to 1-3, while the Eagles are now 0-4.
