Another reminder to area residents that if it seems too good to be true, it likely is!
Two people have approached Dryden Police after responding to a “Mystery Shopper” job advertisement.
The employee is handed a $4,000 dollar cheque, which turns out to be fraudulant.
The employee is asked to cash the cheque, shop for an item under $100 at a specified retailer and report their experience.
They are then asked to make a wire transaction, sending $3,200 back to the employer.
The cheque is no good, leaving the victim on the hook for the cash.
