The Nishnawbe Aski Nation is denouncing the Provincial Government’s
Local Health Integration Network Legislation.
Deputy Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler says the Regional scheme of the LHINS
ignores the First Nation treaty partnership with Ontario and threatens
remote reserves with more travel to access medical treatment.
Fiddler adds the Government has failed to address Northwestern Ontario
concerns and believes First Nation health care issues should be handled by
aboriginal leaders.
