Safe drinking water and year-round road access are just two priorities identified by member Nishnawbe Aski Nation communities.
Chiefs and officials have wrapped up a two day Infrastructure Summit.
Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler says they have drafted a plan outlining community needs for housing, water, power, and roads, and keeping track of information to help secure funding.
Fiddler says the strategy outlines both short and long term priorities.
Fiddler notes chiefs were vocal about the need for infrastructure for training, and for more detailed information to present to the federal and provincial governments.
He says they’ll also present their final plan to NAN leadership at their Spring Assembly in May.
