NAN Police Services Seeks Support

The largest aboriginal police service in Canada will make a plea to
the Provincial Government Monday for more funding.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Services will meet with Monte
Kwinter, the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
NAN Officials are calling on the Province to implement safety standards
and to ensure funding is brought up to the same level as other aboriginal
police services.
Currently, only 1 of 35 First Nation Detachments in NAN Territory
meets Provincial and Federal building code standards.
