The Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation says he’s disappointed
with this week’s Speech from the Throne.
Stan Beardy says its clear the Harper Government plans to ignore the
recommendations made during the First Ministers meeting on aboriginal
issues.
Beardy notes he was pleased to see that the Government made a formal
apology for the chinese head tax.
He adds its now time to take responsibility for the residential school
system that impacted about 90% of the people in NAN territory.
