The Deputy Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation says he’s disappointed in the Supreme Court ruling on jury rolls.
The high court has ruled the manslaughter conviction of a Grassy Narrows man will be not be overturned saying, officials did all they could to assure property First Nation representation on the jury .
Alvin Fiddler disagrees with the ruling and says the system hasn’t worked for First Nations for a long time.
Fiddler says the province knows the jury roll problem still exists in NAN communities and they will now work to make sure the government settles the issue.
