NAN Youth Hoping To Make A Difference In Ottawa And Australia

The Prime Minister and leaders from Australia are hearing from Nishnawbe Aski Nation youth about the challenges they face.

21 members are in Ottawa now, talking to Justin Trudeau as well as members of the Cabinet, Parliament and Senate about challenges they face at home.

And in Perth, seven youth, aged 16-24, are taking part in two suicide prevention conferences.

They hope to find ways to deal with problems they say are brought on by drugs and alcohol.

The NAN members say they are looking to find ways of promoting resiliency in Indigenous young people.

Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler is pleased saying the message brought by these young people is powerful, and the leadership is happy to support them.
