Nathan Bruyere Headed To Italy To Play Hockey

Eagle Lake First Nation’s Nathan Bruyere is headed overseas to play pro hockey.

The versatile player has signed with the HC Fassa Falcons in the European Alps Hockey League.

The team plays in Canazei, Italy and was originally founded in 1955.

The Alps league is relatively new in its third year, with 18 teams from Austria, Italy and Slovenia.

Bruyere spent the past two seasons with the Pensacola Ice Flyers in the Southern Professional Hockey League, where he amassed 16-goals and 44-assists in 93-games.

The Kenora Thistles alumni also spent two seasons with the Lakehead University Thunderwolves.
