Nathan Bruyere Receives Pro Tryout

Eagle Lake’s Nathan Bruyere has signed a professional contract tryout with the Rapid City Rush of the East Coast Hockey League.

Bruyere will try to earn a spot on the Rush blueline when camp opens next week.

He calls it a great opportunity.

Bruyere is a graduate of the Lakehead University Thunderwolves program and he’s not expecting a big difference between pro and University hockey.

He says it’s been a dream of his to play pro hockey since he was a kid.

Bruyere says he’s going in with no expectations and notes he will have to work hard on and off the ice.

If he doesn’t make the team, he’s already committed to the Pensacola Iceflyers in the Southern Professional League.

You can hear the entire interview with Bruyere during the second intermission of Friday night’s Ice Dogs game on CKDR.
