The country’s premiers are joining calls for a national public inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls.
The premiers made their announcement in Niagara-on-the-Lake where they spoke with aboriginal leaders.
Shawn Atleo, national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, says it’s an important step.
Atleo stresses it’s time to get to work and ensure that all aboriginals stay safe.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne says she strongly supports an inquiry.
