Rallies Planned Across Country Today

Rallies are planned in several cities across the country today to highlight native disgust over nutritional experiments performed decades ago on aboriginals, including several in northwestern Ontario.
In the 1940’s, the federal government commissioned research on aboriginals in remote communities and at six residential schools across the country.
The researchers knew the people they were studying were hungry.
But instead of advocating they be better fed, they used them as unwitting subjects to test the effects of different vitamins and minerals.
Along with an apology, organizers are demanding Ottawa release all documents that could reveal other such abuses.
