Chiefs at the Assembly of First Nations are allowing the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls to continue.
They have defeated a call for the Commissioners to resign, but are looking for changes to the inquiry process and mandate.
Chiefs are also calling for more support for families and improved communication during the probe.
Some family members are upset, noting their voice is currently not being heard.
Others believe any delay would further impact family members wanting to tell their stories.
