Natural Resources Minister Reacts To NDP Pledge

Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford says he’s speechless but not surprised.
The Kenora MP is reacting to news that the NDP plan to bring back the long gun registry if elected next year.
Rickford says it’s an insult to northerners.
Rickford stresses it undermines the values and traditions of all of northern Ontario.
NDP leader Tom Mulcair says requiring firearms to be registered is no different than the obligation to register a car or license a dog.
Mulcair says duck hunters don’t need assault rifles, unless they’re planning to shoot a pterodactyl.
