Nault Says Government Will Fight For Lumber Producers

More bad news for Canada’s lumber industry.

The U.S. International Trade Commission has ruled that Canadian softwood hurts the American Lumber Industry.

Commission has voted 4-0 in favour of the American Lumber industry in it’s complaint over Canadian Softwood exports.

That means new duties will kick in.

Kenora M.P. Bob Nault says the Trudeau government is committed to protecting our lumber industry and isn’t taking the announcement lying down.

The anti-dumping tariffs were announced back in November and will average about 20 percent.
