Campbell Raises Concerns About Home Care In The Riding

Concern is being raised about the state of home care in northwestern Ontario.

This week, Kenora-Rainy River M.P.P. Sarah Campbell rose in Queen’s Park to talk about the number of complaints her office has had to deal with.

“The concerns are almost always the same: Patients leave hospital because the beds are needed and are assured that services will be available in their homes, only to be discharged and to find out that nobody shows up or that care is, at best, sporadic.

Campbell says she has spoken with staff at the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and has been assured home care services are being monitored by the Northwest Local Health Integration Network.

However, says says they need action, not another review.
