After nomination meetings in Fort Frances, Atikokan and Thunder Bay, John Rafferty has been acclaimed as the next candidate for the federal NDP.
Rafferty will once again represent New Democrats in the riding of Thunder Bay-Rainy River whenever the next election is called.
Rafferty wants to put Northern Ontario on the map and believes Liberal MP’s in the region are too weak to bring northern concerns forward in their caucus.
Meantime, Liberal MP Ken Boshcoff has been nominated by his party to run again and although Conservative David Leskowski has stepped forward again, Tories have yet to formally nominate him.
