Dryden Downtown Revitalization

Upgrades on the downtown core will continue this week.
Additional street banners have arrived and will be going up and the
redevelopment of the corner lot at Earl and King will begin.
City Manager Arie Hoogenboom says they are moving forward but notes
the installation of the giant mural will be delayed until the end of summer due to work on the CP bridge.
Local Artist Jim Mulyk is expected to complete the mural by the end
of this month and at that time it will displayed at a yet-to-be determined
public place.
The City is also applying for $500,000 in FedNor
funding for streetscaping and other downtown revitalization projects.
After deciding to not proceed with an extensive west walkway, officials
are looking at alternatives including an observation post at the Red Eagle
and a less costly walkway.
