NDP house Leader Gilles Bisson says with electricity rates set to sky-rocket in Ontario, holding the subsidy steady at $120-million a year won’t help a whole lot.
Bisson says by freezing the subsidy, it really amounts to a cut, with electricity rates set to rise by 32% over the next five years.
