Federal NDP Leader Jack Layton is touring Northern Ontario this week
pitching the benefits of Kyoto.
Layton says climate change has had a dire effect on the regional
economy and the Federal Government must take a leadership role.
Layton says instead of getting tough with the biggest polluters, the
Martin Government is letting them off the hook.
He adds the Liberals voted against a NDP motion for mandatory
emission reduction standards in cars and notes Canada must put itself in a
leadership position.
