NDP lobby for a higher minimum wage

The minimum wage in Ontario rose to eight dollars an hour this month, but the N.D.P. says that’s still not good enough.

Party leader, Howard Hampton has launched a new campaign for a 10 dollar an hour minimum wage.

He says they are actually gaining support for the increased minimum wage from not just labor, but small business as well.

N008 Q: …local community. (11 secs.)

Hampton says the eight dollar an hour minimum wage is still not enough to live on and wants the Ontario legislature to address the issue when M.P.P.’s return to Queen’s Park next month.
