New Agency To Promote Northern Tourism

The provincial government is pulling the plug on the Northern Tourism Marketing Corporation – the agency promoting tourism in the north – but it is committed to setting up a new agency soon.
Northern Development Minister Dan Newman says tourism marketing dollars will flow into the region this summer once the NTMC is dismantled this month.
Newman stopped short of criticizing the NTMC but says there is room to improve tourism marketing in the region.
The province plans to set up a new agency by the end of this year.
