The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has implemented a new
procedure that will effect all bus students during foggy conditions.
Officials say effective now, if a driver is unable to safely make a
scheduled stop because of poor visibility, the driver has full discretion
as to whether or not to stop.
The decision comes after various Board officials, OPP and bus operators
determined it was a safety issue.
It means that a student could be left standing at a stop or not dropped
off due to thick fog.
