New Director Of Ed Getting Adjusted

Sherri-Lynne Pharand says her experience so far has been a positive one.

Pharand is the new Director of Education of the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.

She has been on the job for less than a month, and attended her first board meeting this week in Kenora.

Pharand says it’s been an exciting time visiting area schools and meeting students and staff.

Pharand notes she has felt a real passion for kids and learning and a commitment from everyone to do everything possible to ensure kids can realize their dreams.

“I really look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that’s been here at Keewatin-Patricia and continuing to move the board forward in terms of both student achievement and well-being of students and communities.”

She says despite a series of rotating strikes their role is to maintain positive relationships with the teachers and their unions.

Pharand comes from the Lakehead Public School Board.
