New Gold Accepts Federal EA Recommendations

New Gold is welcoming the federal government’s assessment of its proposed gold mine project near Barwick.
While placing conditions on the project, Environment Minister Leona gave her blessing this week for the project to move ahead.
Director of Environment and Sustainability Kyle Stanfield says it’s the first project to go through new assessment rules.
Stanfield says they anticipated conditions to be attached and had developed management plans that address each one.
He adds that so far, their schedule for a start of construction for later this year remains on target.
