Ontario’s Doctors say the end of contract talks with the government prove the province is putting its budget before patient care.
Dr. Ved Tandan, OMA President, says the Ministry of Health has previously estimated demand for medical care will grow by almost 3 % every year.
Yet, Tandan says the government’s offer proposed only to fund less than half of that growth.
Tandan says that gap in funding is what’s needed to hire new doctors.
