New Gold Moving Forward With Barwick Project

It has a new owner, but officials says plans for a new gold mine north of Barwick is still moving forward.
New Gold has completed an acquisition of Rainy River Resources.
Director of Sustainability Kyle Stanfield says they are still seeking ministerial approval of the environmental assessment.
Stanfield hopes to accomplish that next year.
A final report of the environmental assessment is due out later this month.
Stanfield says they’re still working toward possible construction next fall.
