New Gold is giving investors a close-up look at the progress it’s making on its gold mining project north of Barwick.
The company says they are on schedule with detailed engineering completed and a temporary accommodation facility for work crews in place.
It also has several pieces of mining equipment on site and has hired 98-employees so far.
New Gold has also spent $144-million on the project.
Meantime, the president of New Gold is retiring.
Robert Gallagher says he will step aside next June, culminating a 40-year career in the mining sector.
He’s been in charge of New Gold since 2008.
