The new Grand Chief of Treaty #3 is starting to settle into his new duties.
Eagle Lake’s Arnold Gardner was elected leader a week ago.
One of his first orders of business was to remove the name Grand Chief and replace it with a more tradition title.
Gardner says his position will now be called Ogichidaa, which is the traditional name in Ojibway.
He adds that his priorities include improving communications and building relationships with the communities that make up Treaty #3.
