New Health Unit CEO

The Northwestern Health Unit has decided to hire from within for its new Chief Executive Officer.

Marilyn Herbacz has been announced as the CEO, replacing Mark Perreault, who retired earlier this year.

Herbacz had been the Manager of Human and Financial Resources.

The Health Unit says with the recent municipal elections, there will be a significant changing of the board in the new year.

One of the outgoing members is Paul Ryan of Fort Frances.

He is the current Board Chair and recently received the Distinguished Service Award by the Association of Local Public Health Agencies.

Eight of 11 of the board members are municipal reps.

Dennis Brown (Atikokan) Municipal Appointee
Joe Ruete (Dryden/Machin) Municipal Appointee
Lucille MacDonald (Alberton/Chapple/Emo/Dawson/La Vallee/Lake of the Woods/Morely/Rainy River) Municipal Appointee
Yolaine Kirlew (Sioux Lookout/Ignace/Pickle Lake) Municipal Appointee
