The Ministry of Labour is toughening up regulations for people who work in the logging industry in Ontario.
The new regulations went into effect June 1st, and require all workers to complete a classroom training program and work site evaluations.
Belinda Sutton is a spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and says the training focuses on workplace safety.
The amendments fall under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The regulations were developed with input from both industry and labour groups.
