New National Chief For Congress Of Aboriginal Peoples

The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples has a new National Chief.

Dwight Dorey was elected over the weekend.

The Nova Scotia native replaces Betty Ann Lavallee, who stepped down one year early to spend more time with ailing family members.

Dorey was the National Chief from 2000 to 2006.

He says he will continue to fight for Metis and non-status aboriginal people.
