Despite having one of the busiest emergency rooms in the country, Health Science Centre says patient backlog isn’t a concern.
Chief medical lead of the emergency department, Dave Wood, says the hospital can see upwards of 110 thousand patients over the year.
However, he says Thunder Bay’s hospital is among the top 10 in Ontario for wait times.
Wood notes overcrowding is always an issue, but staff are managing to work around it.
