The history of Ontario’s Metis population will be studied in depth as part of a new University research program.
The McGuinty Government and Metis Nation of Ontario selected the University of Ottawa to host the 4 million dollar research chair.
President Garry Lapinski says the project will include a course on Metis culture.
Lapinski says this project has been in the works for 4 years and he’s happy to see it come into fruition.
