New Prospect Hockey Academy On Display

New Prospect School will celebrate its Hockey Canada Skills Academy Thursday.

The Grade 7 and 8 students taking part in the program will showcase their skills at the “Dangler Cup” at the Dryden Memorial Arena.

The game will be played at 11:00am, and the entire school will be in attendance.

Instructors Bill Reid and Brett Lobreau say its been another successful year.

Reid says they had about 125-students taking part in the program this year in Dryden and it was impressive to see the skill level increase throughout the year.

He says the improvement was evident in the Westy 3-on-3 Girls Tournament this past weekend.

Lobreau is a coach with the Girls High School Hockey team and she says they always look at kids in the Academy in recruitment efforts.

She says the kids have grown so much and are determined to learn.

Lobreau and Reid stress that they have seen tremendous growth academically, personally, socially and physically.
