New Prospect Promoting Second Language Programming

New Prospect School in Dryden is touting the success of its Grade 1 and 2 French Immersion classes.

Students made a presentation to the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board to show-off their French skills.

Teacher Candace Nyberg says the students are using the French language programming to also learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Nyberg says it is a great idea to teach a second language early since young students pick up on it very fast.

Student Michael Murrell says he loves the interaction with his instructor, noting its important to learn a second language.

Murrell notes he has been learning a lot about robotics with a robot called Milo.
