Some of Dryden’s bright young minds are ensuring everyone stays safe this Halloween.
The grade 3-4 class at New Prospect School have designed candy delivery systems for the community that would enable a household to be able to deliver packaged candy following the two metre distance rule.
Avery, James, Zoe and Eric are all involved in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math program and they talked to CKDR News about the innovative project.
James says he developed a slide that uses a push force to get the candy to trick-or-treaters.
“I use a tin can to scoop out candy. Then I roll the can down a slide. The trick-or-treaters can take it out of the tin. Then I will sanitize the tin for the next trick-or-treaters.
Zoe says “We are designing the Halloween candy delivery system because we want to keep our community safe from the coronavirus and to not spread germs. We do not anybody to get sick.”
Eric adds “We do not want Halloween cancelled. So we thought we would design Halloween candy delivery system so that there was Halloween for kids who want to trick-or-treat”
