The Rainy-River District School Board says it will proceed with caution on plans to replace its school in Mine Centre, west of Atikokan.
Construction estimates have come in at about $1.7-million more than the $4.8-million being provided by the Ministry of Education.
Director of Education Jack McMaster says the Board is in talks with Ministry staff on the cost overrun, but stresses they are still committed to replacing the School.
