The Provincial Government is hoping to create a new agency to market tourism in Northern Ontario by the end of this year.
Recently, the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines pulled the plug on the Northern Ontario Tourism Marketing Corporation.
Gerry Cariou is Executive Director of Sunset Country and says all 6-travel associations will be assisting the province during the next stage.
He says their mandate is to meet with businesses which rely on tourism to find out what they need in terms of marketing support.
Cariou says the province is also giving Sunset Country 75-thousand dollars to help out with marketing programs this year.
