The OPP says it’s seen an alarming increase in the number of sexual assaults in this region.
That’s why the police have teamed up with 15 other agencies in northwestern Ontario to launch
a new website called “1 is too many”.
Superintendant Mark Pritchard is the regional commander of the OPP and says it’s unclear why
the number of sexual assault complaints is on the rise.
Pritchard says they are concerned that only one in nine sexual assaults get reported and it’s hoped
the new website will help victims get the help they need.
