More duties will be imposed on softwood lumber from Canada in a preliminary ruling by the U.S. Commerce Department.
In its decision, officials determined softwood lumber from Canada has been sold in the U.S. at less than fair market value.
The new tariffs range from 5%-10% more depending on which province the lumber comes from.
The average increase since April is now 27%.
Last year, imports of softwood lumber from Canada were valued at more than $5.6 billion.
