Dryden OPP have laid their first charge under the new street racing
Legislation.
Police were patrolling the Vermilion Bay area and clocked a motor
vehicle doing 51-kilometres over the posted speed limit of 60.
27-year-old Robert Donald Cameron of Stephenville, Newfoundland was
charged for stunt driving and will appear in court December 4th.
Cameron’s drivers license was seized, he was served with a 7-day
driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7-days.
The accused will have to pay the cost of towing and storing the vehicle
and he faces a fine ranging from $2,000-$10,000 and possible jail
time.
