A massive fire at a wood mill in Nipigon may be contained, but the
Mayor says the effect on the community’s economy will be devastating.
Richard Harvey says the Multiply Forest Products mill was doing
well and had recently been revitalized.
With about 150 workers, it was the largest employer in the town of
1,800.
The Ontario government is suggesting it might offer financial support
for rebuilding.
A boil water advisory remains in effect as the Town’s water supply has been drained.
